K-Pop Review: Tiny-G - Minimanimo

I was really looking forward to the release of this song, the teaser looked so fun and cute, and I really loved Tiny-G's first song, Tiny-G. It was so different from the typical girl groups where it's all about sex-appeal, or an overly exaggerated amount of aegyo, which gets kind of boring when everyone does the same, and it easily feels exaggerated and overdone. And sure, Minimanimo is a lot more aegyo than Tiny-G - which had a cool hip hop girl group feel - with its a bit childish doll theme, but I didn’t feel that it was exaggerated, like what I usually do with most aegyo videos.

The video and song really goes well together. It's cute, it's fun and it has a summer feel to it, just like the video with its vibrant colors, cute hairstyles and pretty clothes. Thou, they lyrics have nothing to do with the video, and honestly, if you read the English lyrics it’s a shock that the song is so cute, since it’s about a couple breaking up. I’m still a bit confused about that…

Anyway, the dance is just as cute and fun like the song and video, and it matches the theme really well. With stiff doll-like movements that then shifts into smoother, more fluid steps to show off their skills as dancers, and it always keeps that fun feeling you get from watching it.

Overall the song is really fun and cute to listen to, just as the video and dance is cute and fun to watch, so that's a really good match. And personally I really love the song a lot, it's just this kind of song that I like to listen to on good days, a day when the sun is shining and everything seems to be going just right.

A thing I guess that I should mention about the song is that it has a similar feel to Hyuna's Bubble Pop, if you scratch those oh ah, and the dub step part that is. And I mean the song, NOT the video.

Well I think that is about what I can actually say about the song, and I think it's time to let it talk for itself. By now!
