Dialog

Det ska alltid vara nytt indrag vid ny person om det inte är början av en text eller efter ett blanksteg.  
   "Jag vill se dig dö!"
   "Jag vill se dig dö!" sa han.
   "Jag vill se dig dö", sa han.
   - Jag vill se dig dö, sa han.

Sigges Slagglista

Ord som bör undvikas om det inte är absolut nödvändigt att använda dem. Tänk igenom om du behöver dem eller om din text är lika tydlig utan dem. Ibland är det svårt att stryka dem, men det är för textens skull! "Kill your darlings." Detta är självklart inte fallet om du skriver dialog och en av karaktärerna, till exempel, använder typ mycket - då är det inte ett slagg ord utan nödvändigt för att få fram ditt budskap!

Just, då, så, väl, ju, alltså, liksom, va, typ, där, lite, mycket, nästan, lätt, väldigt, precis, absolut, verkligen, nånstans, helt, förstås, faktiskt, alldeles, riktigt, ganska

Densiteten i en text är viktig, det är lätt att tappa intresset och känna att texten blir tråkig om den inte är tät nog.

Var sparsam med "person säger att" och liknande, det behövs ungefär i var tredje replikutbyte.

Premissen

"Om si... så..."

"Om en man är förälskad och har komplex och blir svartsjuk så kan han förvandlas till en oförnuftil varelse."

Varför?

Tar fram händelsen och skapar mening.

Dialogue

There should always be a new paragraph indent when a new person speaks unless it's the beginning of a text or after a space.

   "I want to see you die!"

   "I want to see you die!" he said.

   "I want to see you die", he said.

   - I want to see you die, he said.

Sigge's Waste List

Words that should be avoided unless they are absolutely nessesary. Think it through; do you really need them, or is your text as clear without them? Sometimes its hard to scratch them, but it's for the sake of your text! "Kill your darlings." This is, of course, not the case is you write a dialogue and on of the characters are using the word absolutely a lot - then it's not a waste word but nessecary to get your point across! (this list may not be completely correct in english as I have translated it directly from swedish, some of these may not belong on the list and there may be others that should be on it.)

Exactly, then, so, well, thus, as, what, be, kind of, there, some, much, almost, very, precisely, absolutely, really, somewhere, entierly, of course, actually, real, quite

The density of the text is importent, it's easy to loose intrest and to feel that the text is boring if it's not compact enough.

Be economical with "person says that" and similairly, it's needed in about every third line exchange.

The Premiss

"If this... that..."

"If a man is in love and has a complex and gets jelaous can he turn into an unreasonable creature."

Why?

Brings forth the event and creates meaning.
