K-Pop for Beginners Part 10: Common Korean Words

Before I start with the actual words I think that I should explain the Korean age system, seeing as some of the words has to do with age. The Korean age system starts at being ‘1’ at birth, and also, regardless of when your exact birthday is, you are considered to be a year older as soon as the new year begins. And just one more thing, I do not speak Korean, I know a few words and phrases from watching dramas and listening to music, reading translations and so on, but I can't say for 100% that these are correct, okay ~

♥ Aboji – Literally translates into ‘father’, and it’s generally used in a formal manner.

♥ Achim – Korean for ‘morning’.

♥ Ae-in – A Korean word for ‘lover’.

♥ Aegyo – The act or ability to show cuteness, a feminine trait that has come to refer to actions by both men and women that can be considered cute or charming. To do aegyo is to act cute or charming around others, no matter if it’s intentional or not. Practically anything goes as aegyo, as long as it’s cute, baby-like, and makes you go “Awww”.

December 2013: Zico (of Block B)

Birth Name: Woo Jiho

Position: Leader, Main Rapper, Composer
Specialty: Freestyle rap, Composing, Weaving melody lines, Writing lyrics
Other:
- Zico is a nickname he got while studying in Japan
- He was an underground rapper and went by the name Nakseo
- He became the leader of Block B because he had the most experience in the music industry

Seeing as I’m turning 18 in a couple of days I thought I should make this month’s post of my ultimate bias, Zico. He’s just so perfect…. He’s an amazing rapper, he sings really well, he’s writing and producing amazing music, he’s extremely good looking… He’s so talented, and funny, cute, adorable, and… and… Did I mention perfect? He makes my heart skip a beat when he smiles, and I love his smirk. His rapping skills are just… W. O. W. And he singing voice is so, so, so good! I just can’t have enough of his voice, no matter if he sings, raps or talks. Sometimes I wonder how someone can be so amazing. But I guess that’s just him. He’s just naturally awesome. But he has to stop giving me all these feels! These feels are just… just… just… AAAHH! They’re too much!!!!

You know what? I’m think I should be going to bed now.

Good night guys! I love you, and I’ll see you soon!

K-Pop Review: EXO - Miracles in December

EXO… STOP GIVING ME SO MUCH FEELS! This song is just so pretty… and sad. Their vocals are so beautiful it sends shrills down my spine, they convey the sad feel of the song so well. And honestly, this feels like a winter song, I just get the image of someone standing alone a winter night, crying, with the snow falling around him. And they convey the sad feeling if the song

The video really suits the feel of the sound, and not just with the setting and stuff. The video has the perfect lighting in every scene and they have all the right colors to convey the same feelings as the song does, and to tell the story of him being left by the one he loves on Christmas, even thou he’s done his best to make it a magical night. Dressing up, preparing the perfect gift, and so on. And it’s kind of the same story that the lyrics tell. A story of still loving the girl that left them, and still trying to become the kind of person he thinks she deserves. To be honest the lyrics in itself just makes me so sad, and with everything going so well together it’s hard not to cry…

So what do you people think? Do you cry to this song too?

-.-'

Guys... How long has it been since I did a "Song of the Week" post? I don't even know! Since the one with voodoo doll, right? Not that I really have one this week... I have barly listened to music at all this week, I've been home with a migrane for a few days so I haven't really felt like listening to anything. But if I had to choose a song... I think it'd be BIGBANG's 'Fantastic Baby', I've been really into them lately (more than usually, that is) since Pollen4 and I started writing our fan fiction with them. :P
Anyways... Sorry if there is a lot of misspelling and other mistakes in this post, it's in the middle of the night and I can't sleep, I'm supposed to wake up in like 3,5 hours. On top of that I'm writing this on my phone, and it doesn't really know English that well, and tries to correct everything into Swedish and stuff...
Well, goodnight everyone, I'll try to get some rest now, even thou, if  I succed I'll be such a mess tomorrow, but mom stole the Internet, so there is not much else to do...

K-Pop Review: Tasty - Day `n Night

Well, I wasn’t expecting a comeback from Tasty, how in the world did I miss their teasers? Well, anyway, this song is so good… It’s quite different from You Know Me, it has a more serious sound, and more of a hip hop feel to it. I really wasn’t expecting something like this from them, and when I saw this video in the qenue I was sure that it was going to be a fun dance-track. I really thought that kind of music suited them, but man was I wrong. This song is just so perfect for their voices, and it also lets them shine with their dancing like the amazing dancers that they are. I mean, if they haven’t proved it before they sure have now.

And the video, I love it! I mean, yes, there have been many videos with the gangster theme during the last year or so, but I can’t help but to love it! And in this video it’s really well made, but it’s not like all of the other ones. Tasty is not a part of a gang, nor are they one by themselves. They are just innocent bystanders really. And they fall in love with a girl who somehow is connected to a gang or the mafia. And in the end she betrays them and they get beat up (and die?) by the members of the gang/mafia that come to get her.

What do you people think about this song and video?
